Funny Bunny Monday Meme*day

A bun-ana early detection system...

Remember that a sugary treat like banana should only be given occasionally and in small portions. Seem more at this post: Bunny care: What is a treat?

Funny Bunny Monday Meme*day

It has to be done regularly... but hide your charger cords.

Bunny care point -- Do not "trance" your bunnies. I don't think this bunny is tranced or I would not post it. Being on it's back is not automatically a trance. The concern is that a trance is "tonic immobility", a fear response by a prey animal. They are not relaxed -- it is a last ditch "terminal" defense mechanism; basically, they may be playing dead in an effort to throw off a predator.
Read about it here.

You can avoid coming close to this by having one person hold the bunny upright and another trimming the nails. Also, here's a video with another way to cut a bunny's nails (one person) here.

Here's a post about Bunya, Lucy & Ethel's Mani-Pedi Day at the bunny shelter (from last year, when Lucy was still with us).

Mutts by Patrick McDonnell

Adopt - don't shop. Bunnies are very social animals - consider adopting a bonded pair. If you already have one bun, contact your local House Rabbit Society (HRS) or other animal shelter about arranging some speed dating for your bunny (this should be supervised by someone with experience).

Ethel in her digging box

If you are a regular RR reader, you know that Sunday mornings is the regular time for cleaning the bunny pen. Everything is moved and disassembled to vacuum.

One of our best bunny purchases was their "fun house". Here is a picture of it with one of the castle towers on top of the fun house. Bunya and Ethel are snuggled inside. In winter, they go up there to enjoy the morning sunbeam that comes through the window.

Here is a post about the fun house: The bunnies' new BUNNY THING!!! It has more pictures in case you want to try to build one. Ours was a one-time project/fundraiser that we purchased from GHRS (lucky, because I have no such skills).

Well, the top was off the funhouse while we were cleaning, so here's Ethel playing around in the digging box portion (~40 sec).

[When I look at the published post, I cannot see the video.
I have reported this to Google.]
