Watch This Before Getting A Pet Rabbit

This video is a cautionary tale about bunnies as pets, especially for the uneducated and/or unprepared. Many of the negatives can be avoided by educating yourself about the pet before you bring one home. You still have to bunny-proof your home (or try your best). Bunnies can be litter box trained. Bunnies need to be fixed (this will extend the life expectancy of a female rabbit).

Look for a local chapter of the House Rabbit Society and take their courses before you get a bunny: Bunny 101 and Bunny 201. When you adopt a bunny from HRS, they will already have been spayed or neutered (and their low adoption fee is less than the cost of the procedure at your vet).

If you do decide a bunny is the pet for you, please adopt, don't shop.
