Ethel versus the gate

Ethel is having some bunny discourse with her pen's gate. They all have done it, although not necessarily on the gate. The pen is 7'x7' (this is where they reside when no one is home; otherwise the gate is open). They will go up to a wall of the fence and tug on it with their teeth; now that I think about it, it seems they only exhibit this behavior when they are outside the pen, looking in. Lucy could really raise a racket; if we made her stop, she'd just go back to it after we sat back down.

Cleaning the bunny pen

What is it about pen cleaning day that makes the bunnies so desire to go behind the pen? Maybe they are trying to find the Wizard of Bun. Follow the green rug road.

We take everything out ... the hidey boxes, toys, litter boxes, tube, tunnel. When we pull it away from the wall to vacuum, they must explore. The vacuum does not bother them and, if they can get to it, the cord is a delicacy. (Yeah, it's headed to the repair shop. Again). When we're done, we have to practically shoo them away so we can move it back without accidentally squishing anybunny.

Ethel is usually the first behind the pen.
Bunya is off to the left, peeking out from behind the hay feeder.
Lucy got her laps in, too.

(Their 24/7 fresh hay feeder stays in place because it normally rests on top of their big white tube and is zip-tied to the pen fence.)

What does your bunny do on cleaning day? Hide? "Help" you?

Bundini challenge

You may recall the Great Escape. A baby gate has now been installed - anchored to the door jamb more firmly.

Of course, the bars were too far apart. This was confirmed when Lucy squeezed between them to see what mischief she could stir up.

Anticipating that, some smaller fencing wire was attached to the gate.
So far, so good.

Bunya: What the #@$%&??? What is this?
Lucy: I don't know - we better get Ethel.

Ethel, mastermind of the previous escapes,
lingers nonchalantly in the background,
so as not to call attention to herself
as she scopes out her new challenge.
