Vanity license plate: ORGANIC

Bunya loves filling up his grocery cart with ORGANIC greens!

But he needs to wait until he's paid for them before he starts eating.

Vanity license plate: HIS TOY

I get the idea of this license plate.
You'd think it would be on an "i" car - Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini.
It was on a Camry.
That, I don't get.

Anyway, here's HIS (chew) TOY:

Bunya: I am at one with the chew tunnel.

Vanity license plate: FAMALY

Well, ignoring the spelling (we'll give the driver the benefit of the doubt and assume "FAMILY" was taken - assuming that Famaly is not the Family's last name), here's a corresponding bunny picture for this plate:

Fortunately, there were lots of pictures from which to choose to match this topic.

Vanity license plate: ESCAPEE

Here's how I came by this plate: When headed to my Mom's on the typical busy street found here, I saw a turtle was trying to cross the road. In Atlanta, this can be dangerous for people. I noticed this at 55 mph. Well, really, Officer, I was only going 40 mph. (And turtle - hare ... related for this blog's purpose.)

Anyway, regardless, I was past the turtle in the blink of an eye, went up the road and made a U-turn (legal, really). When I circled back around to try to get the turtle off the road, someone had beat me to it by a few seconds. This was his license plate, which I think is a really funny vanity plate. He was gone before I could get any backstory ... I barely had time to snap the picture.

Human escapee helped turtle escapee

This plate brings to mind The Great Escape

Vanity license plate: CHILLIN

Haven't included vanity plates in a while.
So this begins a week of vanity plates, with corresponding bunny pictures.

Yes, I am chillin'.
Indeed.

Vanity license plate - SALADO

Salado -
It's what's for dinner-o!
(If it doesn't cost too much dinero
and it's not too salty)

Bunny medicine administration

The bunny burrito as a control mechanism to administer meds has been explored in this blog. With as much as Bunya is taking now, it was not working as well ... it takes two of us to get it done.

Plus, Bunya is now avoiding us. Seriously. When we call him, he hides. We tried to give him a treat, a little piece of papaya. He came when called - and only because we shook the papaya box, so he knew it was for a treat and not meds. He bound up to my wife, but stayed out of range. Then he looked at her and hopped into his pen, turned around and stood on his hind legs, leaning against the fence to wait for his treat -- he wanted a barrier between them so he could not be picked up and given slurry and medicines.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
Bunya burrito
When we tried to give him meds, Bunya would either claw his way out of the top of the towel or "turtle", retracting his little head inside the towel roll. We needed to be schooled in extreme bunny burrito, so I made an appointment with the vet nurse.

Since this was to be a short visit, I gathered up all the bunnies (a feat in itself) and shoved them in the carrier, hoping it might be a step towards re-bonding. Lucy first, then Ethel, then Bunya. First time they'd all been together in almost 2 weeks ... well, together without fur flying.

I was not gentle with it - I wanted them shaken. The car ride was similarly "swerve-y". They did not fight and just huddled up to each other.

Bunnies shaken, not stirred

If you think wrestling is not real, well, you just have to admire how the professionals do it. It was a thing of beauty. She wrapped a tight bunny burrito and then Bunya had a smack-down* ... he was firmly held in position - no jumping away, no turtling - and got his meds and goop.
Bunya gets the WWE Smack-down* treatment,
with the patented burrito/head-lock combination.
*Sigh*  She makes it look so easy.

Bunny tumble ride home. Bunya has been walking around the girl's pen (at least it's theirs for this 24 hour period), sticking his head in through the fence and trying to nuzzle the girls, especially Ethel. He needs to get well so we can re-bond them.

* Just a wrestling thing - no actual violence.

The Tortoise and the Hare Meet Again

Sort of.

My son spotted a vanity license plate:

(I'm guessing Sea Turtle ... could be See the Turtle
but I am not sure where you see sea turtles in Colorado)

And in the same picture he sent me was a bumper sticker on that same car:

An excellent sentiment!
So the tortoise and hare met again and were friends.
Going exactly the same speed.

New Year's Message

Hi there. Bunya here.

First, Lucy & Ethel and I want to wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Please be careful in your celebrations.
If you drink, don't drive.
We don't have anything against moderate imbibing ... the humans don't know it but we've fermented a little carrot juice to celebrate, too. But we are staying home to celebrate. We hate cars.

Even if you don't drink, be careful driving out there, because not everyone is as smart as you.
Don't text while driving either. Just concentrate.

Also, be kind to each other next year. And beyond.
Be kind to all pets and animals, too. (But especially bunnies.)

Take care!

P.S. Here are a few vanity plates with good thoughts and wishes for the New Year...

Vanity license plates - trouble brewing?

I sure hope this car

doesn't get into a fender bender with these cars

College rivalries can be fierce, especially when they are both home teams, as in Yellow Jackets (Georgia Tech/GT) and Bulldogs (University of Georgia/UGA).

And this car would pull over and just laugh at all of those...
(Guess Clemson was taken)

Vanity license plate - HRU2DU

Can't believe there's another such plate, and right here in GA. This must be a bunny slave.
Been paying attention? It's a word in "bunnyspeak" that an author created - for a motor vehicle, and it's on a car ... a mobile pun.
See the FL version of the plate here.

Vanity license plate - DITZY1

Huh?
Ethel drives a car!
We had no clue, but we found her wheels, for sure!

How does she drive?
Ethel must steer and Lucy must work the pedals for her. That's it.

Vanity License Plate - SNISTR1

Sinister 1?
The head bad guy? (As opposed to SNISTR2 ... or maybe that is Mrs. Sinister)
Ernst Stavro Blofeld? (Spectre's "#1") Hiding in plain sight?
("Give him his cigarettes. It won't be the nicotine that kills you, Mr. Bond.")
Darth Vader's black truck?
Or, more current, Voldemort's vehicle?
Or, much less current, Snidely Whiplash's wheels?

Vanity Plate - LATE4WRK

I don't think major interpretive skills are required for this one.
Maybe the driver doesn't get pulled over - the excuse for speeding is preprinted on the car.
I wonder if LATE2WRK is still available?

Ethel: Do I have to hurry breakfast so we won't be late for work?
Bunya: No! We work from home -
and we are doing our jobs right now.
But Lucy's late.

Vanity license plate - HRUDUDU ... a quiz for you

Don't you love the four little bunnies across the bottom?
The owner of this license plate is a big-time bunny fan!
Can you interpret how we know this??? Well, just how much of a bunny fanatic are you? Submit your answers via comments to this post.

Another way (nothing to do with the license plate) to tell this is a friend to buns is the car owner's site, listed in Rabbit Resources in the right-hand column: Rabbit Health Central.

Lucy: Do you know the answer?
Bunya: Of course. You'd know I do if you checked my profile.

Vanity License Plate - PCFUL 1

Henry Kissinger type?
A yogi perhaps?
Just a "peaceful one", a peaceful person, at one with the universe.

Ethel, the Zen bunny, at her personal spa:
Ommmmmmmm...
I am at one with the buniverse, Grasshopper,
or maybe at bun with the universe. I forget.
How do your pets relax?

Vanity license plate - DOREMI

Music teacher?
Music fan?
Singer?
Favorite movie: The Sound of Music?

Bunya: So, do you sing?
Ethel: Only in the bathroom - great acoustics.
Lucy: Doe! A deer, a female deer...
Why couldn't they put a bunny in that song?

Vanity License Plate - ML8 ML8

No picture of this one. Yesterday, I had lunch with a friend who is my source, so I do not doubt its veracity. He told me about a license plate he saw and challenged me to interpret it AND tell him on what car he saw it.
ML8 ML8
... for a very important date!
The plate: I'm late, I'm late
How about the car?

A white Rabbit.

Vanity license plate - TRUSTIG

A trusting individual?
Car purchased with trust funds?

Do you have a trust fund?
No.
Well, I trust you anyway.
I trust you, too. But I am still not taking my eyes off this food dish.

If you have alternative interpretations for the vanity plates, please submit your thoughts in the comments!
